The Simple Reaction Time Task (Deary & Liewald, 2011)

The purpose is the test which kind of emotion affects memory Using images with relative music for test memory

This is a modified stroop task, testing participants emotional reaction to swearwords in Englisgh vs. Norwegian. It includes a test round at the beggining for the prticipants to familiarise themselves with the task, and a memory test at the end to see if there was an effect on memory between swearwords vs. normal words, and L1 vs. L2.

Participants are presented with a series of numbers and must recall them by typing them into a box. The amount of numbers will increase, making the task harder and harder until we can measure the maximum amount of numbers a participant can remember.

This is an update to Topor’s implementation of the PST by Frank, Woroch and Curran (2005), made to run online. See https://doi.org/10.1016/j.brs.2022.02.009 for details of other modifications made for offline version and carried through to here.

This project accompanies a YouTube tutorial on using eye tracking components in PsychoPy. It includes a local-only .psyexp experiment file demonstrating calibration, validation, gaze-triggered trials using MouseGaze, and custom HDF5 data markers.
