In this task participants are required to memorise and recall number series in order. Participants start out with three 3-digit sequences. If participants correctly recall 2 out of 3 three sequences, they progress to 4-digit sequence trials and so on. If participants respond incorrectly on 2/3 trials the experiment terminantes. This experiment is based on the original digit span experiment by Jacobs (1887).

A single dimensional psychopy3 version of the classic SHJ (1961) category task where participants are presented with a series of black and white squares and triangles. Images vary according to their colour (black and white), size (large and small), and type (square and triangle). A single dimensional psychopy3 version of the classic SHJ (1961) category task where participants are presented with a series of black and white squares and triangles. Images vary according to their colour (black and white), size (large and small), and type (square and triangle).
The task phase begins with a target (+) which remains on the screen for one second and follows each feedback routine. After the target is presented, the stimuli appears on the screen for 7 seconds total. These are pulled from a list of 8 images, referenced in SHJ Category List.xlsx (for Single Dimension). If the participant does not respond in 7 seconds, then they are prompted with a text component asking them to respond quicker.
There are 10 blocks of stimuli in this study, which means that participants will go through a total of 80 images. It takes approximately 5 - 10 minutes to complete.
